Gerben Visser

Gerben is a Co-Founder of The Singapore FinTech Consortium and FinTech Consortium that include the platforms: BlockOn (Reengineering Finance), InsurTech (Reimagining Insurance) and RegPac (Redefining Regulations).

He is also a Committee member of the Singapore FinTech Association.

He is also a Co-Founder of IncubAsia Ventures (early stage venture capital firm) and an advisor to a number of early stage technology companies.

He has gained over 12 years of international experience in private equity, mergers & acquisitions and corporate finance at RBS, Bank of America and Citigroup in Amsterdam, New York and London.

He received a Masters degree in Business (Finance & Economics) from the University of Groningen in the Netherlands and dual Masters degree in Business (Finance & Economics) from SKEMA, a Grande Ecole Superieure de Commerce in France.

Gerben is a member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment and has been a registered Securities & Regulations, Corporate Finance Advisor with the Financial Services Authority in the UK.

Prakash Somosundram

Prakash is a Co-Founder at The Singapore FinTech Consortium.

Prakash is a 15 year veteran from the Digital and Social Media industry. He was the founder of Yolk a Digital agency based in Singapore with offices around ASEAN. Clients that he has proudly served includes Microsoft SEA, Singapore International Foundation, BMW Asia, Canon SEA, Sharp Vietnam, Ministry of Information Community and Arts and Media Development Authority.

He was part of the team that lead the acquisition of Yolk by WPP in late 2010 and the integration with Grey APAC. Prakash exited the business in March 2014.

Prakash has started and lead teams in Social Media Marketing, Community Management, Corporate Communications and Crisis Communications.

Prakash was one of the co-founders of Inconvenient Questions, a Singaporean focused Socio-political website that aims to serve as website for Singaporeans who want direct answers for important questions. Concurrently he was also serving as the Global CMO for a start up called Start Up Crowdfunding based in UK and part of the Grow VC Group.

Currently he is also serving as a Business Advisor to Sourceguru a newly launched marketplace based in Singapore with an office in Chennai.

Heavily involved with Start Up promotion and Youth related causes in Singapore he serves as the Vice Chairman of Action Community for Entrepreneurship (ACE) as well as a Board Member of SCAPE with a focus on Youth and Entrepreneurship. He is also a District Councillor with North East CDC serving his second term in the Children and Youth Committee

Mona Zoet

Mona is a Partner at The Singapore FinTech Consortium and Co-Founder of RegPac as well as Co-Creator of BlockOn and InsurTech conferences.

She is also the Founder of her own company ThinkMola that is specialized in Training, AML/KYC compliance and risk management advisory serves.

Prior to this Mona has been a Partner at CPI Asia, Risk, Governance and Finance boutique consultancy firm.

Mona started her career in banking and for over a decade she worked in challenging positions within Legal, Financial Crime Compliance and Risk Management, she worked and lived around the globe; started with ABN AMRO in the Netherlands, JP Morgan in Hong Kong, Lloyds Banking group in New York as well as State Street in Boston MA and Bank of America Merrill Lynch in Singapore to name a few.

She furthermore is Director of Risk Management and Special Projects with ACCESS: Association of Cryptocurrecies and Start-Up Enterprises Singapore and works together with the Global Blockchain Forum (GBF) to establish best practices guidelines around Bitcoin and Blockchain technology. She is a strong advocate of regulation Technology (RegTech) and is the Co-Founder of RegTech Connect.

She has a Masters degree in Law from University Maastricht (Netherlands) which includes a 6thMonths exchange program with the University of Glasgow in Scotland and she is a Certified Anti- Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) recognized Worldwide.

Matthias de Ferrieres

Economist with a business & legal background (Chicago University – Chicago Booth, Sydney University – Faculty of Law), he has over 16 years of experience in P&C insurance in South-East Asia.

Matthias spent 15 years in AXA Asia where he started as an actuary in 2001 before covering different management positions focusing in transforming the fast-growing organization.

Regional CMO and Head of digital for the General Insurance side in ASIA, Matthias leaves the insurance giant in December 2014 to spearhead a series of local start-ups under the umbrella Stark Group Private Limited.

He sets up Insurance Republic in January 2017. Both Stark Group and Insurance Republic deliver disruptive yet easy to operate digital insurance base solutions.

Leo Shimada

Leo is an Advisor to The Singapore FinTech Consortium.

Leo Shimada is the Co-Founder and CEO of Crowdo, a Fintech Startup offering a full portfolio of Equity Crowdfunding and P2P Lending solutions, as well as Partner at Crowdonomic Media PLT.

He is an experienced professional with over 15 years track record in the areas of finance, strategy and technology across multiple Asia markets including Japan, Malaysia, India, China and other parts of SE. Asia.  He has held senior positions both at a top professional firm as well as a Fortune 500 company.

Leo established Crowdo (CWD) in Singapore, and has since rapidly become the largest and fastest growing platform in the region on a membership basis. Leo’s key focus has been on strategy setting; regulatory engagement in multiple markets; talent management; performance management; and market expansion.

Prior to Crowdo, Leo joined Diageo in 2007 as a Strategy Lead for its 10+ markets in the Asia Pacific Region. Leo was responsible for strategy development and implementation supervision both regionally and for major markets.  He also played a key role for investments and setting up JVs in addition to participating in other M&A deals. During this time, he built up extensive experience in target assessment and due diligence.

Leo started his career as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company’s Tokyo office and later transferred to their SE Asia complex.  During his time at McKinsey & Company, he focused on assist global clients in their Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) activities, and secondly to assist clients launch new products and services in the technology space.

Leo obtained his MBA from INSEAD, and has a BA in Law from Keio University in Japan

Ned Phillips

Ned Phillips is an Advisor to The Singapore FinTech Consortium.

Ned has over 24 years of experience in Asia focusing on agency and electronic equity trading – in particular, on growing the alternative crossing network community. He has extensive experience in providing consultancy and project management for incumbent exchanges, alternative exchanges, brokers, regulators and vendors who are facing the changing realities of equity trading in Asia.

Ned was the Chief Executive Officer of Chi-East Pte Ltd, a sell-side Asian dark pool which was jointly owned by Singapore Exchange Limited (SGX) and Chi-X Global. Prior to that, he was Chief Executive Officer of BlocSec, an electronic crossing network for the Asian markets which was wholly owned by CLSA.

Ned also served as the Managing Director for E*TRADE Asia and was responsible for the entire regional institutional equity business. He was also Head of Sales with Investment Technology Group (ITG) and established its Singapore office. Currently, Ned is a director of Alt Ex Advisory and 8Securities.

Ned graduated with an honours degree in Economics from Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh in 1990.

Henri Guedeney

Henri is an Advisor to The Singapore FinTech Consortium.

Henri boasts a wealth of experience in the Innovation and Financial Services Sector. He joined A.T. Kearney in 2011 and has worked as a Partner in the Financial Institutions Practice for 4 years.

In this position, he re-established the regional practice in Southeast Asia, in areas such as insurance and banking. He has also led the development of a novel digital banking consumer/SME model, which was identified as an important Firm  Innovation and broadly syndicated to clients across the world.

Throughout his career, Henri has achieved senior positions in McKinsey & Company Financial Institutions Practice, Booz Allen and Hamilton as well as BNP Paribas, reaching Associate Principal, Senior Associate and Senior Auditor respectively. He has also worked in several countries such as Indonesia, France and Guinea. Overall, he holds 24 years of experience.

Henri currently sits on the Board of two startups, Second Life Networks and Ventes. He is also an Advisor for Bak2 Group and DTCA.

Sander Swinkels

Sander is an Advisor to The Singapore FinTech Consortium.

Sander is an expert on National Security, Defense and Policing. He also has gained over 20 years of general management experience, driving major business transformations as well as building businesses, teams and organisations from scratch in Netherlands, Singapore and London.

Sander was the General Manager of the SEA region for Palantir Technologies, Inc. which is a private American software and services company, specializing in data analysis. Founded in 2004, Palantir’s original clients were federal agencies of the United States Intelligence Community. It has since expanded its customer base to serve state and local governments, as well as private companies in the financial and healthcare industries. While working for Palantir, Sander was heavily involved in establishing and growing the SEA division across the entire spectrum of business from scratch. Prior to that, Sander worked for Capgemini as Principal Public security for the Global Public sector. During then, he was the principal consultant and led many successful sales efforts in both Europe and in South East Asia.

He also was the Chief Intelligence Officer on a National level in the Dutch National Police (Royal Marechaussee). During his tenure as the Chief Intelligence Officer, he led the transition to Intelligence Led Policing on a National level, improving multi agency collaboration and led many projects and investigations within the Counter Terrorism, Serious Organized Crime and Border Management domains.

Sander received a Masters degree in Science (Economics & Information Management) from the University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands and is a Dutch Royal Military Academy graduate.

Ian Myles

Ian is an Advisor to The Singapore FinTech Consortium.

Ian is well versed in the mobile industry, spending the last 15 years in mobile, including running an advanced concept studio for Motorola, and the last 5 over years has been in payments.

He was Head of Payments, Group Digital Life in Singapore Telecommunications Pte Ltd (Singtel) where he was in charge or regional mobile money. He was also VP Technology Director, JP Morgan Chase, dealing with NFC technologies to next generation of payment UX.

Currently, Ian is a collaborator with carbon12 creative, advisor for Navdy and Co-founder & CEO of area 51. With a background in Design / Mobile & Payments, Area 51 is where Ian brings user entered experiences to payments, wear-ables and biometrics.

David Gogel

David Gogel is a Vice President at The Singapore Fintech Consortium.

He is an experienced strategy and M&A professional with over 4 years of experience working in the Corporate Development team at AIG in New York, Tokyo, and Hong Kong. After 2 years working in the home office, David was asked to help establish and build-out the regional Corporate Development function overseeing 16 markets in Asia Pacific.

David graduated magna cum laude from the Huntsman Program in International Studies & Business at the University of Pennsylvania / Wharton School. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics and a Bachelor of Arts with a concentration in finance and a minor in Chinese. During his junior year, he studied abroad at Tsinghua University in China. He is currently pursuing his MBA at Wharton to follow his interests in international business, fintech, and entrepreneurship.

Xie Yingyao

Yingyao is an Analyst at The Singapore Fintech Consortium.

She graduated with a bachelor degree in Biomedical Engineering from National University of Singapore. She also went to University of Pennsylvania for exchange. After working in plenty of medical researches and R&D, she is interested in pursuing business in a start-up environment which is faster-paced and innovation-driven.

Lim Thai Xiong

Thai Xiong is a Business Analyst at The Singapore FinTech Consortium.

Through his years in NUS, he has undertaken several leadership positions with experience in fields like marketing, logistics, publicity and programmes. He was also actively involved in the organizing committee for volunteering, with various experiences in the elderly, children, terminally-ill, and intelligently- challenged sectors. He was interning at Maybank as a Credit Analyst prior to this.

Thai Xiong’s interests lie in the financial technology, venture capital, entrepreneurship and capital management.  He is motivated in forging a successful path in these fields and believes that passion is what drives men to greater heights.

Aidan Chong

Aidan is a Business Development Intern at The Singapore FinTech Consortium.


Aidan is in the last year of pursuing a diploma in Financial Business Informatics at Temasek Polytechnic.

While studying, Aidan has been involved in Informatics and Information Technology Studies club as a sub-committee member, helping out with school events such as open house and volunteering at old folks homes. Syed Shahris

Syed Shahris is an Business Development intern at The Singapore FinTech Consortium.
